We have a developmental approach and strive to provide quality, fun and well rounded programs for all of our participants. Since 2003 we have made it our mission to develop programs that serve with joy! Our staff truly enjoy working with children and this can be seen on a daily basis. Our Story

Our Story

Bridget Nelson has been working with children for 20 years. She holds a BA in Liberal Arts from Mt. St. Mary's University and a MA in Educational Psychology with a Specialization in Early Childhood Education from California State University, Northridge. In addition Ms. Nelson belongs to several professional organizations that relate to the child care field. Ms. Nelson takes a developmental approach in working with children and loves creating new programs for children to have meaningful experiences.

Carly Armacost has worked with children for 16 years. She holds a BA in Communications from California State University, Northridge and has countless additional educational units in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Armacost finds it meaningful to provide quality programs that are ever evolving that support the community in which these programs are located.

Meet the Team

Camp Calabasas and Little Learners has a staff who dedicate themselves to providing quality programs to those we serve. Our staff are all over the age of 18 and are attending college or hold degrees in child centered fields. Staff attend classes, seminars, are CPR/First Aid Certified, and stay on top of new things in the field to continues to enhance your child's camp experience.

Ms. Patricia has been running programs for our youngest participants since 2003. Prior to that Ms. Patrica attended Camp Calabasas seasonal camps as a CIT and camper. She prides herself on creating fun activities, projects and themes for the children to have a well rounded day!

Raquel Avila-Camou

Assistant Program Director

Ms. Raquel has held many different roles during her time working at Camp Calabasas. She grows more within each position she holds and that has ultimately led her to being the Assistant Program Director. Ms. Raquel is easily approachable and makes it a point to know the participants and their parents on a personal level. Her dedication to developing programs is crucial to the success of many of our programs.
